April 2024: Shae has waited over a year to find the perfect adopter. She is BEAUTIFUL, playful and loud and can be quite affectionate too. She would be a lot of fun for a couple that appreciates Coonhounds. Best guess is she is about a year and a half old now. I sure hope we can find her the bestest new family soon.
Shailene is in month #13 of heartworm slow kill and she is doing great!!! She is happy and loves to play with other dogs. She can also have limited running in the yard in her foster home. When she is tired, she is very cuddily and loves to snuggle with her foster mom. Most of our heartworm positive rescues move to Foster to Adopt and we are hopeful we can find a great family in the Chicago area to continue her care. She will need a playful companion in her new forever home.
Feb 2023: Shailene is a very pretty petite hound mix that is about 9 months old. She was saved from an over crowed shelter in Arkansas and is safe in foster care. Sadly she tested positive for heartworms but as young as she is, it has to be a pretty minor infection. She is currently in our heart worm slow kill program and doing great. Shailene can be timid around new people and feels safer around dogs. We just don't know what kind of life she had before she came into rescue, so we are looking for a loving, caring Foster to Adopt home in the Chicago area. A fenced in yard is a requirement for adoption.
