April 2023: Walter's recovery has been going so well. We did find 2 tick borne diseases but the antibiotics we started him on have given him a new zest for life. Sadly when we did his dental, he lost all of his teeth due to the severe neglect. Eating hasn't been a problem, however! Walter needs a family that can follow up with my vet annually to make sure he gets the right blood work so that he stays healthy. We are looking for an adoptive family in the Chicago suburbs that wants to help a sweet dog that has had a rough life, but is ready to have the best time in his golden years.
Feb 2023: Walter is another senior Beagle that needed our help from a southern Illinois over-crowded shelter. He's suffered a lot of neglect- but is doing great in foster care. He is a typical Beagle, sweet and friendly and just feeling so much better. We are taking our time with his care, but are so glad he is safe and loved. He's got a lot of health issues, but he's making such great progress already. We will need a loving caring adoptive home for him that will give him the best life .
