Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Courtesy Post: We are helping Mac find a new home. NO children or grandchildren.
He is a neutered male, mixed terrier breed, 6.5 yrs old (will turn 7 in May), 55 pounds, up to date on all shots, has never had any health issues and does not shed much (when his hair is cut short his undercoat is black and velvet soft and when his hair grows longer it is tan, thicker and more wirey). He is fully potty trained and will tell you if he needs to go outside. He knows all the basic commands and a few tricks too.
Around adults - he is a sweet, loving, playful cuddle bug who takes lots of naps, loves to run around in the backyard or lay in the grass in the sun. He loves treats and chewing on his toy bones. He would love a fenced in yard to run around in but I’ve had him hooked up to a stake run and that has worked perfectly for him too.
Mac is great around all adults and other dogs of any size but he is not able to be around children. Mac was adopted when he was 2 and they rescued him from a terrible home with abusive children. Despite training efforts, he has never trusted children and gets defensive and aggressive when he sees kids. It has been managed around minimal contact with kids but a new baby is expected in March. We all know safety is top priority.
Mac has brought so much joy, happiness and love over his adopted 5 years and makes his mom laugh every single day. ActNow’s interest in aiding in rehoming him is to ensure he is in great care and surrounded by love.
If you or anyone you know is interested please fill out the adoption application and we will put you in touch with his owners or a rescue representative.
