Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Gweedo is 4 years old and weighs about 70 lbs. He’s had a harsh life prior to coming to us but despite it all, he’s still a ray of pure sunshine. If you look up “happiness” in the dictionary, you will find a photo of Gweedo right there. He’s always smiling and eager to make new friends. Anybody who’s met him falls instantly in love. Even though Gweedo cannot walk like a normal dog, it does not stop him one bit. He’s a tripod with only two *fully* functioning front legs. He enjoys his wheelchair time but he can also easily scoot himself to get where he wants to be (usually next to you). Gweedo is great with other dogs but he also wouldn’t mind being your one and only either. He LOVES getting all the attention and spotlight on him. He loves all people, children and adults alike. Whoever’s got treats and a good hand to pet him, he’s your best friend. Just watch out for those toes so he doesn’t run ‘em over with his wheels! He's an extra extra extra special boy in so many ways and so we're looking for a family just as special for him and his needs!

More about this rescue
Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit organization; obtained our 501(c)3 in 2011 - ID #27-0810495
Located in Anza, CA
Kathy Haley had originally started as a rescue for abused and neglected large animals such as donkeys, llamas, alpacas, pigs, and more. At the time, she was also a volunteer at a dog rescue. After learning about the importance of rescue work, Kathy saw an opportunity to help by employing her own ideas about animal welfare, rescue and care taking the "whole animal," mind, body and spirit into consideration. A few years later, she met Lisa Ashe. Kathy and Lisa had so many ideas, dreams, and goals in common. They instantly clicked and that was when Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit organization, was born in 2011 and have been going strong since.
At Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary, we are dedicated to taking in abused, neglected, and euthanasia listed animals that deserve a second chance and need us the most.
All of our animals are:
Spayed/Neutered
Current on all vaccines
Rabies Vaccinated
Dewormed
Micro-chipped (lifetime registered & paid)
Received all proper medical care when needed (surgeries, dentals, medications, grooming, etc)
While many of our animals are sanctuary or "permanent residents", we do have lots of adoptable pets who are patiently waiting for their forever homes.
We are unique in the fact that our dogs do not live in kennels; instead they live with us in our home on about 5 acres of property located in Anza, CA or they are in foster homes in and around the Temecula, CA area. They have full access to our home and property and sleep inside with us at night.
This ensures that our pets are well adjusted and perfectly suited to become a part of your family.
Because the sanctuary is also our home, we do not have regular public visiting hours but we do have many visitors.
We just have to arrange it to fit the schedule of our animals, ourselves, and you.
