Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Laskavo prosymo do Ameryky, Cole! Which in English means, welcome to America, Cole! This beautiful 1-year old, 45-pound Labrador mix has finally arrived, having just completed his loooong journey to NY via the Ukraine, where he was found by US soldiers, hungry, homeless, and frightened. Imagine the horror stories this sweet scared boy has to tell! :-(
It takes a village to save a dog..and no situation exemplifies this more than Cole’s What an outstanding effort by so many folks who found a way to bring Cole to safety.
And now it’s up to us to find this deserving pup a home where he can begin his life anew.
Cole is still decompressing from everything he has gone through, but if you look beyond his current fear and confusion, you can see a fabulous personality in there just waiting to emerge. He’s shy around new people right now, but is always gentle and kind. He’s fine around other dogs, but doesn’t interact with them…yet. You can tell that Cole WANTS to play and have fun. And slowly but surely, once his confidence is regained, he will be able to do so.
Housebroken and outdoorsy, Cole really likes the fresh air. Having access to a yard for Cole to run around in and explore would be a big bonus. This peace-loving fella seems very happy surrounded by nature. Trees, grass, sunshine, cool breezes…ohhh yeahhhh, bring it on!
As Cole is becoming more relaxed, his affectionate side is coming through. He likes being pet and might even raise his paw to request MORE pets if you stop. He’s also been known to give morning kisses by giving a tender lick on the hand. Awwww!
Cole will need a patient human to give him the time and space he needs to reach his full potential. Like watching a tulip blossom, as Cole learns to trust again, he will open up, let light in, give love out, and shine like the dog he was always meant to be. This pup’s life is about to turn around BIG TIME!
