Are you into the scruffy look? Is your dog looking for a friend? Or are you looking that missing piece? Then look no further than Magic! He is sure to bring some added enchantment into your life.
Magic is a very chill guy but if you get him with a squeaky toy or a playful dog pal, his puppy side comes out and that is when he is happiest. He loves to pass the time by playing with his toys or wrestling nicely with his foster sister, Phoenix. In the morning, Magic is so excited to start the day and will hop himself down to the backyard door to be let out. He is also so sweet with everyone he meets and will happily lie on his belly for pets when guests come over to the house. Magic's personality shines with another dog in the home so that is something his forever family should have for him.
In the home, Magic is so well behaved. His foster mom works from home and he could spend the whole day sleeping if you let him! He currently goes out for two walks a day and really enjoys his walk time. He walks very well on leash and has exceptional manners when passing other dogs/people. Magic is house trained and crate trained. He is not a very vocal dog but can get some happy barks in when you engage him with play.
In Mexico, Magic did come to the shelter with an injury that healed by itself. His right leg is slightly more muscly than the other, and if you stare hard enough you may see him using his right side more than his left. (He’s very good looking, so staring at him has never been a challenge). However, this doesn't slow him down at all as he loves to run, jump, and play!
For his future home, he must go to a home with another dog for him to learn and thrive with. A dog around his size or smaller, with a gentle play style. (No hyper puppies for his boy!). He is good with cats and other small animals - he just lets them do their thing! Magic would appreciate a family who are home most of the time. He would also do well with a secure yard or, if not, we'd love to hear about your plans for exercise (physical and mental)!
If Magic sounds like the scruff for you, check out the adoption process and application at www.dibsrescue.com. His adoption fee is $750. If you are a family with older kids, please check out our resources on kids and dogs before you apply (https://dibsrescue.com/kids-dogs/).
