Rocky Riding Thinker is a heck of a name, but to his friends, he’s just Rocky. This very sweet, smart boy urgently needs to find a foster or adoptive home away from the shelter. You see, after many months in the shelter, Rocky has now tested positive for Distemper. This means that he can’t stay in the shelter environment- but don’t worry! He can safely go to a home with any fully vaccinated dogs- which is a good thing, since he’s great with other dogs!
This handsome volunteer favorite will thrive in an active home with some tasks to keep him busy. Here’s what some of his best pals have said about him:
“Rocky RT is a short little guy that may look shepherdy but has very much a heeler personality. Rocky was nervous and ,shy when he arrived at PACC but he has blossomed into a fun, friendly little dude to those who know him. Rocky has had quite a few kennelmates come and go and he has done wonderfully with all of them. He can be playful with some and also adjusts his energy to match theirs. He is currently sharing a kennel with a very high drive, intense young female. Rocky can have heeler energy and would love to have an active lifestyle to keep him fit and busy. That said, he has really kept himself together while living in a tiny kennel. In fact, Rocky has been in isolation for several weeks after being diagnosed with distemper when he was exposed in the shelter. He has not been able to leave the isolation room at all and yet he remains hopeful and balanced. Rocky is feeling better and he really needs to get out of the shelter to complete his treatment. He has been nothing but a pleasure to work with. He leashes easily and is always anxious to get out of the kennel for his walks or play yard time. He is not reactive to other dogs while out walking. He is playful, intelligent, loves to work, and is super treat motivated. He has some typical Heeler behaviors, but is very steerable and loves to please. I think Rocky would thrive in a home with another dog his size for companionship. He is a great dog.”
“Rocky RT is so darn cute and well-behaved. Very easy to leash up and exit the kennel. Today he was very interested in treats and as soon as I unzipped my fanny pack, he sat immediately. He walked very well and didn`t pull. I had a pleasant time with Rocky.”
“Rocky is such a happy, easy- peasy boy to spend time with. He walks great on leash, has been great with various kennelmates, and is all around just a really lovely, deservi
