My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE! Adopted May of 2023! Rabbit – Nan – Wildish Brown color – female - Weight – 6-7 pound range

We don’t know exactly what happened to Nan other than that she was found as a bunny set loose in a neighborhood, with her sister, as young adults. What we do know is that Nan is an incredibly loving rabbit who is desperate to be someone’s special companion. Her desperation has led her to be very insistent about getting attention in ways that most people wouldn’t like. She has nipped and even bitten…..in order to get attention. Yes, I know…..that doesn’t sound like the action of a loving rabbit. But she didn’t nip to be mean. She nipped out of desperation to get the attention that she so desperately craves. This bunny MELTS when she gets attention which can include holding her, petting her, snuggling, etc.

Once I figured out the source of her behavior, it has been easy to keep her from doing that ‘other thing’ that we don’t like. ALL bunnies need attention. It’s true that some are not as insistent about it. But if you are looking for a bunny who wants to lie in your lap and snuggle, then THIS could be your rabbit.

In time, she will be able to trust that you will continue to give her love and she will become less desperate. If you have ever been misunderstood, then you can understand how easy it might be for someone to misunderstand this bunny. This might even be why she was thrown away. But we know her secret and we can help you have the most loving rabbit ever!

TRUTH! I ADORE this rabbit. I LOVE holding her and kissing her face and giving her that love! She is one of MY personal favorites!! Nan really is a special soul waiting for a special person to understand her!

She isn’t a bunny for just anyone. She needs someone who wants her as much as she wants them. If you are looking for a ‘best friend’ type of companion rabbit, she might be the bunny for you.

If you love the look of this rabbit but are a tad concerned about her unique communication style, then you might want to consider her sister, Thelma. The description is nearly the same for Thelma, but she’s not quite as desperate as Nan. She’s a tad more laid back. She still wants love…..just not so ‘in your face’ about it. Thelma is NOT a fan of being picked up and held, but loves when you pet her.
(Thelma has a pretty white foot and is slightly darker in color than Nan.)

NOTE: The sisters do NOT get along (it’s hard for them to share) so we are looking for them to each have their own home so they can get the focused attention that each of them wants. But either one could make a nice wifebun if anyone has a manbun looking for love!
