My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for the perfect furry friend to join your family? Meet Scout, the ultimate foodie and cuddle enthusiast! Scout isn't just a dog; he's a social butterfly ready to charm his way into your heart (and possibly your snack stash!). With his wagging tail and irresistible charm, Scout is always ready to greet new pals, whether they're humans or fellow four-legged companions. This 3-year-old, 80-pound bundle of love is the definition of affectionate. He thrives on snuggles, couch time, and of course, treats! ️ So if you're looking for a movie buddy who won't judge your snack choices, Scout is your guy! But don't let his laid-back demeanor fool you—Scout is always up for some outdoor adventures too! Whether it's a leisurely stroll in the park or a game of fetch, he's game for it all. Plus, his calm demeanor makes car rides a breeze! While Scout may not be the best match for feline friends or young children, he's more than ready to shower older kids and adults with all the love and cuddles they could ever want. So, if you're ready to add a dash of love, laughter, and tail wags to your life, Scout is waiting to meet you! Contact AAHA today to schedule a meet and greet with this cuddle bug extraordinaire. Trust us; your couch (and your heart) will thank you!

We are a rescue that is dependent on volunteers as we do not have a physical building. We rent space at a kennel in Upperco, Md. If you would like to meet one of our dogs please contact us to make arrangements. Thanks!

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
