Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Max is about 4 years old and 18 lbs. He is an incredibly snuggly and affectionate dog. He loves to burrow under the covers with his foster mom to get cozy. Although a tiny bit shy at first, once Max bonds to you - he is a velcro dog and your loyal best friend. He will follow you everywhere you go if you'll let him. He is pretty low-key for the most part and sit next to his foster mom while she's working but he does get zoomies in the fenced in yard and enjoys chasing tennis balls, too.
Max is house-trained in his foster home on a schedule and crate-trained, though he is not too fond of the crate. He does have separation anxiety so he needs a home where someone is home most of the time (ie you work from home). He very easily takes his medication (fluoxetine) to help with this anxiety. This medication is pretty inexpensive and it helps him feel better.
Being a hairless dog, Max needs his skin protected and he gets cold, so he wears pajamas and shirts. His skin is sensitive and while it is significantly better than it was when we first got him, he does still have blackheads - primarily on his hind end. He has a veterinary shampoo that will go with him that will help with this.
Max really loves toys and will carry them around everywhere. He does not guard toys or bones from his humans but will guard them from other dogs, so we are looking to place him as an only pet. He is also fearful of large dogs and will bark at them.
While there is information above about Max that may seem like he is a challenging dog, he really isn't. He is an incredibly loving, special dog and we know he will bring immense joy to whoever adopts him. His foster mom absolutely adores him and can't wait for him to find his loving forever family who will provide just as much happiness to him as he will to them. He is the cutest, silliest dog and whoever adopts him will be blessed with a loyal companion.
To adopt Max, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org
His adoption fee is $300, which includes his shots up-to-date, microchipping, neuter, and heartworm testing.
He is not suited for an apartment/condo due to the separation anxiety and needs an adult only home.
We are not looking to place him further than 2 hours away from Metro Atlanta.
