My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fat & Happy Chihuahua Mix

This little girl is a total sweetheart and I really like her.  My personal dogs really like her.  Jenny is a 10 pound Chihuahua mix with freckles and her lower lip sticks out just a tiny bit.  She is 2 1/2 years old, housetrained, crate trained, walks well on a leash and of course gets along with everyone, all dogs, big and small, kids and adults.  I have noticed that some kids that are very excited and full of energy makes her retreat, the kids that throw things at dogs and pull their tails :(  Other than that, she likes playing with kids.

Jenny is a lap dog, loves to be close to you but she does go play with toys and her foster brothers and sisters.  She especially loves to be with her human companion and of my gosh does she really love to steal toys so you can chase her or one of the dogs can chase her!!!  She is a bit overweight but she can run fast and jump and keep the game of chase going!!!

I feed stray dogs on the west side of San Antonio when I noticed 3 little white dogs not regulars in that area.  One was a puppy and I caught him but he got away, so I followed him into the empty lot and behind a guard rail was another Chihuahua with 2 newborn babies curled up on her.  The neighbors came out and told me that a car had driven by and thrown all 4 of these dogs out.

The other Chihuahua and her 5 babies went to a different rescue.  Jenny and the puppy sat for days in the same hole that the other Chihuahua had given birth (I took her that day) Jenny and the other pups were afraid but I finally got them.

Since she has been in my home, she has been just wonderful.  I could have posted her long ago but my poodle loves playing with her and there are many more dogs out there being dumped by their owners and I need Jenny's space to bring in another dog.

ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED

Roxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our foster dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), up to date on vaccinations and rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE OF $150.00.

Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption.

Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.
