My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Name: Barnum (Jamie added stuff!)

*Age: 3.5 years old

*Current Weight: 66 lbs

*Adoption fee: Sponsored - No Fee

Hey there, I'm Barnum!! Barnum is a faithful 3.5 year old who was rescued from Texas. He was born in a small town in the Lone Star State where he spent the first few years of his life wandering the streets and surviving on scraps. This boy is a survivor who is now ready to live the good life in a warm, loving home! Despite his years of fending for himself as a street dog, Barnum remained a happy-go-lucky pup with a tail that has never stopped wagging. Seriously, Barnum is in a constant state of pure joy wherever he goes!

Barnum walks incredibly well on a leash and is naturally a well behaved dog. Watching Barnum proudly carousing the neighborhood with his head and chest held high is a sight to behold! When he goes for his walks at the Adoption Center Barnum is sure to stop at every person along the way for some butt scratches. He simply can’t resist the opportunity to get some lovin’ from anyone who will give it!

Barnum loves nothing more than putting on his leash and heading out for a stroll around the neighborhood. He is a fantastic swimmer, too! We have a stream down the road from the Adoption Center and Barnum’s handlers are sure to bring him over for a dip as often as they can in the warmer months! Whether it's a short walk around the block or a long hike through the woods, Barnum is always up for an adventure. He zips in circles around the yard with his favorite squeaker toy then pauses right in front of you in a play bow waiting for you to play stomp in his direction.. then he’s off again! Zoom, zoom, Go Barnum, Go! Did I mention Barnum is crate and housetrained, too?!

Banum prefers to be the only dog in the home so he can get all your love and cuddles! If you're looking for a loyal and fun-loving companion to join your family, Barnum may be just the dog for you. With his charming personality and love for adventure, he's sure to bring joy and excitement into your life every day. Barnum is currently located at out adoption center in Brewster, NY!
