Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Annalee. She is a Foxhound, almost 3 years old, weighing 43lbs. Annalee has a medium hair coat. She was a stray who was found by Ruth Ann Powell already pregnant. This wonderful Samaritan, looked after her until Rescue could be found. She was 4dx tested and tested positive for Ehrlichiosis and Lyme. She was treated for this with Doxycycline once her babies were weaned. Annalee arrived at our Rescue on January 14 quite pregnant. She had 6 beautiful babies on January 24. She was a wonderful, caring Mom. Annalee is a shy gal until she gets to know you. She prefers a quieter home. This gal is wonderful with other dogs and loves to play one-on-one outside. She has an extremely gentle disposition. She has had the luxury of having a large fenced property to run about in so she has not had much time on a leash. Once her new family gets her used to going for walks, she will love it like any other hound. Annalee is currently fostered in the country so she has not been around any city noises or traffic. Annalee enjoys her food and is fed twice daily, food measured out to not increase her weight as she is currently at her optimum size. She enjoys sleeping on anything soft, doggie beds, couches, etc. She is gentle and sweet. Typical of her breed if ever she is off leash, she can run very fast. This breed can never be off leash unless in a fully fenced area or they will run for days and not come when called. Their endurance level is very high once they are free. Hard to believe when they are such couch potatoes in the home. Annalee is housebroken and rides well in the vehicle. The ideal home for Annalee would be one where there is another dog to keep her company. Any age, any sex, playmate, or companion, it makes not matter. A quiet home would be best, with no small children running around that may frighten her. Older children 8 years plus would be wonderful. Hound experience would be a bonus. Annalee is spayed, heartworm tested negative, fully vaccinated, on monthly heartworm/flea/tick prevention, dewormed, and microchipped; A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian History of Compliance are mandatory to apply for our Mommy Annalee. Thank you Melissa Caron Photography for showing us her great smile in every single photo!
