Hi there! I’m GRITS (DOB: ~01/31/2015), a male red smoke purebred Maine Coon. My breeder was a wee bit in over her head and reached out asking for help in placing several of her Maine Coons, and FFRS stepped in to help me and several others find our ‘purr’manent new homes. And if you are looking for a “big lug” of a cat, I’m the one for you ('big lug' is a term of affection and endearment describing personality traits that reflect the opposite of an overall broad physique; in other words, a big lug acts the opposite of what his overall image reflects, or acts against the stereotypical image of a tough guy)! I love my neck massages, will roll over for a belly rub, will hold your hand to give sandpaper kisses, and give you hugs. I’ve had some eye issues, but after entropion surgery, I am doing well; and I’ve also had the majority of my teeth pulled – but, trust me, I have no problem eating my kibble! I promise I’ll provide you with years of love, loyalty, and companionship if you’ll give me a chance to adapt to your home. I am neutered, up-to-date with vaccines, tested negative for Feline FIV/FeLV, dewormed, microchipped, and have received flea preventative. My adoption fee is $300.00.
