Double Adoption with Tilly, #H212144. Who’s that leading their room in the feather olympics? Formerly shy sisters Tilly and Tammy! Offered the opportunity of a lifetime when their local rescuer delivered them to our care, they’ve learned a lot from their human caretakers about trusting us, and they’re ready to share with an experienced family all that they’ve learned. A quiet place, with someone committed to offering them the time to adjust to the new surroundings, will build up their confidence, and older children who can continue showing patience as they acclimate, will provide the consistency with which they thrive. Treats and playtime have proven to be excellent incentives to give new situations a try; before you know it, you’ll have these adoring sisters thanking you for completing their rescue story!

When you come down to NSALA an associate will help you figure out what kind of animal will do best in your situation. At that point they will take out the animals you are interested in so that you may get to know them. You will have plenty of time to play and interact with your new friend in our family friendly areas designated for that purpose. When you decide you want to adopt, an associate will help you fill out an application.

Our adoption fees are as follows:
Puppies (up to 6 months) $350
Adult Dogs (over 6 months) $100
Puppy Mill Rescues $250
Small Breed & Pure Breeds (over 6 months) $250
Kittens (up to 6 months) $100
Double Kittens $150
Adult Cats (over 6 months) $50
Double Adult Cats $75

Where applicable, a $50 Spay/Neuter deposit is required for kittens, $75 for puppies.

Our Adoption Center, is open every Thursday-Sunday 12pm-8pm. On average, our shelter is home to 350 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. Behind the scenes, the Adoption Center contains a nursery area, medical examination room and a grooming area where new admissions are health checked, vaccinated, bathed and groomed.

Visitors are reminded that adoption is a lifelong commitment. After selecting a pet, each potential adopter is thoroughly screened, ensuring each adopter recognizes the life-changing commitment a new pet can be. To date, over 1,000,000 pet owners have met our high standards and adopted a pet from North Shore Animal League America.
