My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This gorgeous boy is a 4 year-old greyhound mix. He is a designer greyhound - part Greyhound, part German Shepherd.

Everyone who has worked with Bobby says he is totally awesome. He has tons of personality. He is shy initially, but then warms up and will shower you with kisses. Bobby likes kids and has lived with kids in his previous home.

Bobby would do well in a suburban home as a family dog. An adopter with big dog or German Shepherd experience would be a plus! Bobbie is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. No cats or small dogs please. Bobbie will thrive in a home with a fenced in yard. He will be a fun companion!
Note: Bobby is located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois (approx. 30 miles west of Chicago. Please go to www.greyhoundsonly.com, and click on “Hounds” and there is a link to the adoption application. Or for more information, email Barbara at barbara@karant.com to see if you are in their adoption area (approx. 100 miles from Glen Ellyn, IL.
*Fenced in yard is required.

More about this rescue

The American Lurcher Rescue Project, Inc. (“ALP”) aka Ohio Lurcher Project is a 501(c)(3) all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of racing lurchers and greyhound mixes. We work hard to find responsible groups and/or homes when and, if appropriate, for retired racing lurchers and greyhound mixes that have been abandoned or no longer wanted. The ALP transports lurchers to adoption groups, does direct adoptions, and provides basic and emergency medical care, and temporary boarding. We work hard to raise awareness of the need for finding homes for the racing lurchers once their career has ended, through social media, networking, and the general support of a caring community.
