Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Neely is a special little girl. She is a 16 lb Maltese/Yorkie mix who is almost 7 years old. Neely is relearning her manners, working on housebreaking and walking on a leash, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and spayed.
Neely is a loving, sweet girl, however she does have a tendency to nip, snap, or bite (with little warning) when she's scared or doesn't want to do something. She is especially aggressive at the vets office and groomer. Her new adopter will need to work closely with her veterinarian/groomer to develop a plan for these visits.
Neely loves squeaky toys, cuddling, belly rubs, sleeping with humans, and is getting used to a crate. She is okay with other calm dogs and doesn't bother the kitties in her foster home.
Her new family needs to understand her tendencies and be very patient with her....especially in the first few days/weeks. Neely will likely always have this fear/force reaction, so her new home should be pretty routine, low-key, and should not have any young children.
Neely does have some anxiety and seems to deal with it by picking up a toy and pacing around with it. She sometimes also does have anxiety when she is confined to an area with a gate. She will jump up constantly trying to get attention or get out of the gated area. She does need someone who is home a lot.
If interested in Neely an application can be found at www.homesfurhounds.org. She is located in Williamsburg, Va.
