Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.wiseanimalrescue.org/adoption-application!
*PLEASE READ BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH AN ADOPTION APPLICATION*
Due to factors beyond our control, transport costs for our Puppy Mill survivors are much higher than what we have been accustomed to - costs for health certificates and medical + transport for each dog with no allowances for shared crates. With these factors taken into account, as well as the care needs for all of the animals in our adoption program, we need to request a donation above our normal request. Depending which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a donation in the range of $450- $850 from each adopter. $250 of that donation will be used toward the cost of transport. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying
- ONE application per household. We will only consider your family for one of our available puppies so please apply for only one.
Name: Fritz
Breed: Sheltie x Rat Terrier mix
Age: 12 weeks
Gender: male
Home Recommendation: Fritz is very young and is looking for an home who is home more often than not to spend time playing and training him. We'd prefer he go into a home with another adult dog to show him the ropes. As an adult, he will be active and will need a family able to give him daily exercise!
Personality: Fritz is a gentle, loving pup! He comes across shy at first, but once he warms up to you, he loves to play! His favorite things to do are run around the backyard, chase his foster brother, and play with toys! He particularly loves chewy toys or ones with squeakers! He continues to gain more and more confidence each day, and usually will follow in the steps of other dogs to learn from them!
Kids: 10+
Dogs: Yes! He loves other dogs.
Cats: Yes, Fritz would be fine in a home with cats.
Crate Trained: working on it! He usually barks for 10-20 minutes but then settles down and does great.
House Trained: working on it! He uses wee wee pads and is very smart so he will catch on quickly!
Training: As he is very young, his forever home must be experienced and ready to put him through training so he can become the well-behaved adult we know he can be! He is learning how to walk on a leash and improving each day with practice! He is very treat motivated and this helps with gaining his trust at first.
Why did he come to WISE? Fritz was rejected by a pet shop and was to be returned to the mill where he was destined to be destroyed. WISE wasn't going to let that happen and took him into our program.
