Meet Leonidas!
Hi! My name is Leonidas, but all my friends call me Leo. I'm kind of a celebrity around here, but don't worry, it still hasn't gone to my head. I am one of the longest residents here at the Humane Society, I've been in their care since August of 2021. I'm an American Bulldog mix, and the birthday they helped me choose is 08/19/2016. Now that I've got the boring stuff out of the way, let me tell you about me! If you'll indulge me in bragging for a moment, I'll tell you I am one of the BEST huggers you will ever meet. I have never met someone who didn't melt right in my paws. If you give the right first impression, good luck stopping me from giving you a snuggle. I love a good treat, I mean who doesn't? My friends have taught me a lot of basic commands, and if you give me a reward or use a clicker I will listen for sure. I'm also a sucker for a good chew toy. Rubber balls and hard toys are my absolute favorite! My friends like to give me Kongs filled with peanut butter, and I can't get enough of those. I could chew on a good toy for hours, honestly! A couple of things you should know about me are my HUGE fear of storms, for one. Way back before I lived at the shelter, I was shot in the shoulder area and the thunder just reminds me of that way too much. I'm fine now from the gunshot, though, not even a scar! I also want to be the only pet in the home. Other dogs and cats are fun to think about, but I don't actually want to be anywhere near them. I think kids are pretty fun! I love to give them big hugs and kisses, but they should be old enough to understand my boundaries. I can get a nervous if you hold me too firmly, and I know some really little ones don't understand that yet.
Leo is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption fee has been sponsored!
