My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please meet Emmie :)

Emmie will be 2 years old in April. It would be the best birthday gift for Emmie to have her forever family to celebrate with. Emmie is in search of a family who will love her & be committed to her for life, as she has already been bounced between 2 homes through no fault of her own.

Emmie was originally adopted from a breeder by a family who was working from home due to the pandemic. When the family went back to work, they no longer had time for Emmie. The second family moved to Florida & didn't want to take her as they were elderly & no longer wanted the responsibility.

Despite being the most perfect young lady, Emmie has been let down by many people in her young life.

Emmie loves playing with other doggies & kitties! We are in search of a family who has other animals. Emmie is very sweet & affectionate. She loves sleeping with her foster mom in bed & going on car rides with her. Emmie really enjoys being a part of everything. Emmie enjoys being brushed & playing with toys. Emmie is groomed every 6 weeks with unscented, hypoallergenic shampoo only.

Emmie continues to work on potty training. She does well going outside to go to the bathroom, but still uses wee pads in the house. She will sometimes have an accident off of the pad. Her foster mom keeps her in a diaper overnight. The diaper is almost always dry in the morning. Emmie needs a family who will be patient & understanding when it comes to this issue. Emmie may be the type of doggie who never gets completely potty trained. You MUST be ok with that possibility.

Emmie has a high PH level in her urine, This may be contributing to the accidents. Because of this, Emmie will need to be on a high quality wet food diet, with the addition of extra water or safe doggie broth added to it. IF YOU ONLY FEED DRY FOOD, PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS POST.

* Emmie also needs to remain on a cranberry supplement daily. Her PH will need to be regularly monitored. There are test strips so that this can be done at home. This maintenance is a MUST for Emmie. These measures will hopefully prevent future bladder stones.

This may sound like a lot, but it's simple maintenance. Emmie's love is priceless :)
