Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mel is a friendly, talkative, well-socialized, high-energy, and super fun, 10-month-old, male, tri-color smooth-coat guinea pig looking for a loving guardian with his momma Rosie who is 18 months old. They adore each other!
Mel didn’t get along with other male guinea pigs and he’s so social, that he was neutered and now happily lives with his mom who is also tri-color smooth coat guinea pig.
Now the two pigs happily run around their habitat together, talking, sharing meals, and playing.
Mel and Rosie enjoy their hay and salads. They come running to take treats from your fingers. They are both active, acrobatic, and happy.
Guinea pigs eat a diet of unlimited Timothy, orchard, and botanical hays, ¼ cup of shared pellets, and two cups of a variety of fresh veggies every day including kale, red leaf, romaine, and green leaf lettuces, cilantro, parsley, carrots with tops, and bell peppers. Please read up on guinea pig care and diet before adopting by visiting this excellent website http://www.guinealynx.info/
Mel and Rosie’s adoption fee of $100, as a pair, benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue. If you need a complete set up including a large (2-foot by 4-foot cage), water bottle, hidey hut, pellets, and hay, the whole package is available for an additional $50 or $100 for a double-wide cage. To meet and possibly adopt this adorable guinea pig pair, please fill out an application https://friendsofpetraits.com/guinea-pig-adoption-application/ and follow up by e-mailing friendsofpetraits@gmail.com
Mel and Rosie are being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
