My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Marty is an 8 month old, 29 lb goofball. He has clearly been underfed at some point and spent over a month of his short life in a rural shelter prior to rescue. Even though Marty has seen some hard times he is friendly, well socialized, and sweet as can be! He is doing great in foster care and getting along well with the other dogs in the household. He LOVES to play and sometimes his dog friends get annoyed with him because they get tired before he does but he is doing well with taking cues from the other dogs and learning to respect their personal space. He is working on his leash manners and potty training (with a doggy door) and he loves his foster parents. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and active people because he enjoys running and playing a lot. Marty is still really concerned about food and eats as quickly as he can so he is using a slow feeder bowl. He prefers to eat by himself so he doesn't need to feel like another dog is going to try to eat his meals. As he gets used to regular meals we anticipate him adjusting accordingly. Marty is a sweet boy and he will make a great hiking/ walking partner and would be a lot of fun to take to obedience classes. If you are looking for a new friend that will enjoy an active lifestyle, he might just be your guy.

Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pup’s with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pups at the event!

The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. This dog tested negative for heartworms.

If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.

After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
