Let me start by saying that I would appreciate no body shaming regarding my weight!! I have just seen my reflection in a mirror for the first-time and... trust me, I am well aware that I have "a pound or 15" to shed!! In all fairness to me, I only ate what I was fed and by the looks of it, that was a lot of everything! You see, my previous owner who loved me deeply and was on the older side, thought it was ok to feed me whatever he was eating. I have since learned that moderation is key! Also, my past owner never left the house which was really nice for me because I always had company. However, that has left me with separation anxiety so a home where my new owner(s) are committed to working with me to overcome my fear of being abandoned is essential. I just love you humans so much that I don't like to be alone. Then my owner sadly passed leaving me homeless. BUT things are already beginning to look better now! I have been able to play with many different dogs (both male and female) and I love them all (as seen in my video)!! My potty habits are stellar!! However, keep in mind that a new home means different schedules! So, patience is key for both of us. I love going on walks and just laying around the yard while foster dad does whatever chores foster mom gives him lol (glad I'm a dog lol). I have shown zero aggression since arriving at the shelter and have a high tolerance for annoying young pups (also seen in the video lol). I have no issues with jumping right in the car for a ride but take a few minutes to settle in (I will pace in the backseat til comfy). I walk great on a leash. We aren't certain if I can be crated because I am so well behaved it has not been necessary. I have not found a human that "annoys" me...all ages/sizes/genders are fine with me, I don't discriminate! Foster mom says I remind her of an old hippie because I'm pretty "chill" and just go with the flow. She says it with a smile on her face so I'm guessing it's a good thing? I love human attention but am not what you might refer to as a "Velcro" dog....I allow you to do your human things and I just do my dog things. But I will expect a certain level of pettings along with an appropriate amount of attention. My new home will have to able to continue my exercise program. That means lots of walks and outdoor playtime along with a consistently healthy diet which sadly does not include human food :~(. Together we can work on getting healthier in the new year!! So, if all this sounds like I might be a fit for your family (and vice versa) then fill out that application so we can meet up!! love, gunner xoxo
