My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tulip, born August 2022, was found on the streets very sick with an upper respiratory infection that traveled to her eyes. We took her into our care where she continued having eye infections, effectively rendering her eyes useless. Her eyes were closed to prevent further infections and she is doing wonderful!

Tulip doesn't realize that she is any different than her sighted friends. She needs a day or so to acclimate as she explores her surroundings. She has an adorable habit of cocking her head to 'look' at you when you talk to her. A calm house would be a great fit, but that does not have to mean a quiet one. She is in a house with kids (5+) and animals and enjoys the activity level and noise associated with the household. She is also is very inquisitive, so you will find her in the middle of any activity in the house. Exploring is a favorite hobby and she thinks that she is quite sneaky when she walks slowly by you to check out what's behind closed doors (because if she can't see you, you can't see her!).

Tulip is a quiet, sweet companion who is extremely lovable. She stays pretty close to her humans as you go throughout your day and loves attention, petting, and sleeping near you. Tulip prefers to live on the ground and is comfortable relaxing in an open or semi-enclosed cat bed. Her favorite toys are those that she can hear (crinkle foil balls are the best, followed by any kind of paper) and she loves a good scratching post. Her favorite treats are wet foods of all kinds and chicken!

Tulip thinks that everyone should be her friend and gets along great with cats and dogs when introduced properly. She is vetted and litter box trained.
