Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Zandra is estimated to be 3-4 years old and her size is about 55 lbs. She is unique in appearence and in great shape. Her personality is attentive and friendly with folks she is familiar with. She has a typical heeler personality where she needs a managed introduction. She doesn't typically accept immediate affection from strangers. She is a little guarded but, once the ice is broken she doesn't forget your friendliness and will be a good buddy. She is very smart and knows several commands. She is also playful and loved belly scratches.
A fenced yard is required and no young children as she may not readily accept strange children visiting in a home. She can be barky at times when strange activity occurs. She would alert to visitors. She is not suitable for apartment/condo living. She is a working breed who excels with regular activity.
She was found roaming an apartment complex for a period of time where she made her way around multiple residences. She wasn't a trouble maker and seemed to be looking for friendly folks.
Zandra can be good with nice dogs but, we have also seen her be competitive as a protector of her humans. She is great in a home setting.
She may guard her food when having special treats.
We are a rural shelter with high intakes. As a result, the shelter dogs are not guaranteed safety. We do our best but, we need help.
ADOPTION FEES APPLY- Dogs $125-$150 Cats $80. (We are not set up for credit or debit payments.)

The shelter is open Monday thru Friday from 9 - 3 p.m. except Thursdays (closed). Saturday hours are by appt.
After hours appts can be arranged with advance notice and an approved application. We want to accommodate!
