Hi there! My name is Jewel, and I might have a little wobble in my step, but don’t let my specially-abled legs fool you—I’m all heart and happiness! I tippy-tap with my front paws and flash my biggest smile every time I see my favorite humans, showing them just how thrilled I am to be with them. Scratch me behind the ears, and I promise to be your best friend forever! My journey started on the tough streets of Houston, TX, where I was found with partial paralysis in my hind legs. But since then, I’ve made so much progress! My skin is fully healed from the road rash, and I’m getting stronger every day. You should see me zip around the yard—I might surprise you with my speed!
I’ve been waiting patiently for over three years for my forever home, and even though I’ve been through a lot, my heart is open and full of love. I used to be a bit nervous around other dogs, but with the help of my amazing foster family, I’ve been building confidence. I even made friends with their Corgi and some other dogs while out and about! My foster family calls me their “spazzy, happy girl,” and they say I have a whole lot of love to give. If you’re ready for a best friend who’ll brighten your days and show you just how resilient and joyful life can be, please give me a chance. I can’t wait to share my love with you!
