Ga-eul entered into the city pound in Korea where they execute euthanasia. No one knew she was pregnant at the time. She gave birth to 7 puppies at the corner of the shelter amongst other large dogs in the heart of winter. She was very timid at first but started to approach volunteers and ask for affection after the babies were born. She took care of her babies heartily in the cold, however some of the litter died from parvovirus and the rest were rescued. We were able to successfully bring her babies, Ollie & Deulrae (now Soda) to Toronto and find a family.

In the shelter, Ga-eul was attacked by a very aggressive dog who had killed several other dogs there. She survived but lost 1/3 of her anal sphincter and had to get her tail cut. After this accident, she has become more submissive to other dogs and she shakes her body after her business to make sure there is no piece left in her anal.

Ga-eul lived with human parents and a little girl in Korea. She was scared of men sometimes. However, she got along well with most people regardless of age and gender now after you give her a week. She will be a completely different dog after the adjustment period.

In her Korean foster home, there were several dogs both smaller and larger. She was very good with them and would play with them but kept a distance if any dog was too aggressive.

Ga-eul loves to go for walks. She will love anybody that walks with her often. She is a calm, gentle, kind and submissive girl. Ga-eul has gone through many unfortunate events. Even after the surgery, this poor little girl still had no home to go to and stayed in a poor facility for many months more. Now she is in a Toronto foster home and is looking for her forever home.
