Dog's Name: Robert (ROB0123OTHMD)
Estimated Breed: Labrador Retriever MIX
Approximate Age: 2-3 years
Approximate Weight: 48 lbs
Currently Living at: Boarding
Adoption Fee: $400
DOG'S DESCRIPTION: WATER!!!! Did someone say "let's go for a swim?" I'm in, definitely!!! My name is Robert and I would love nothing better than to spend time with you at the beach, river, or whatever adventure you are up for! As you can see, I am definitely a water dog and a great swimmer. I am a very happy guy and I also love people. I'm playful and just waiting for my permanent home - my brother Remington was adopted ages ago, and I just want to be as lucky as him. I really am a good boy, but I need some more socialization with other dogs, leash training and patience. I have a fair bit of energy, so I will make sure that you get some exercise too! But, at the end of the day, I can be as mellow as a couch potato. I do much better with off leash introductions to other dogs, and I really love to play with everyone, so events are difficult for me - so much excitement and no where to channel it! Please consider adding me to your family if you like an active playmate!
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
