Chico is now available for adoption! This scruffy boy was an owner surrender and is looking for a home of his own. Chico is 8 years old and about 8 pounds. He is a chihuahua mix.

He is a very kind and gentle dog and has lots of kisses for everyone. His favorite past times include sleeping in his bed, sleeping on a chair, getting treats and going for walks, but only in pleasant weather. Chico can be very shy at times and mostly enjoys his alone time. However, he does enjoy getting petted and although he is not much of a lap dog, he likes to be close by to his family. He gets along with the resident dog but he isn’t very playful. He prefers to keep to himself. He walks nicely on a leash. He has a fenced in yard at his foster home and it would be preferable for his new home. He is potty-trained and will go in his foster home’s fenced in yard, but do expect some accidents initially. He has lived in an apartment and was barking when the family wasn’t home so apartment living would not be a good fit. He is very smart and quickly picked up his foster family’s routine. He doesn’t need to be the center of your attention but wants to be in the mix. He is crate-trained and likes to hang out in there. He can be left out alone, he doesn’t chew things up. Chico is living with children and is very sweet with them, but he would prefer a quieter environment. He has not been tested with cats. He knows his name and comes when called and will sit for his food and treats. Chico is just a wonderful little dog and would make a great addition to the right family.
