Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Phil! ❤️ He’s looking for a foster or forever home
Currently in Victoria, BC
Phil is a neutered Jindo/Poodle mix boy, about 3 years old, 16 kg
From his owner: He is the chillest of boys! He’s very loving once he trusts you, and very loyal. He will be shy and not interested in you at first, but with patience he will warm up and won't stop asking you for pets. He can sleep all day while he's inside the house, but once you let him off leash in a fenced park he gets the zoomies and loves playing fetch.
His boundaries are very important, so he needs a family who can respect them. Ideally, a family of two with NO children. He's okay with apartment living and is fully house-trained. He just needs his 4 daily potty breaks plus a 20-30 minute walk.
Since he has just been introduced to toys, so far fetch is the way to go with him. Make sure to trade a tasty piece of cheese for the ball while you work on the "drop it" command with him. He loves to play with other dogs and is more suited to play with females that don't mind a very forward dog, but aren't forward themselves. He has some resource guarding so never have toys around him when there are other dogs as he can get possessive. He's okay to share a bowl of water with his playmate but not a bowl of food or treats.
It’s very important to respect his boundaries. He is very communicative and will growl to make sure you know that what you're doing is making him uncomfortable. He’s mostly sweet and loving. There is some work to be done to desensitize Phil to being cleaned, so he would be more well suited with someone who has experience with anxious dogs and is not a first time dog owner.
Before he was rescued in Korea, he had an owner but he lived outside with a short chain without water or food.
