Hi, my new name is Shadow (I was called Flower Child for a while) and my very nice foster mom, Terry Shonk (Beach City, OH) says I'm doing much better and will have my eye surgery soon. They think I'm a Shar Pei/Springer mix. Anyway, I'm one lucky boy because Phyllis Mahaney and The Shonks saved my life and I'm very grateful to them ... I'll let Phyllis tell you the story ... '"This little "Flower Child" had lots of angels looking after him today that's for sure! Thanks to all of you who made this possible. He was literally MINUTES away from going to God, as he had already been tranqued for euthanasia. When I met him at Terry's work (getting him there is a story in itself--thank you, Arnold!) I saw a sweet, sweet, clean friendly young boy--beautifully marked and sooooo sweet. NOTHING replaces those grateful doggie kisses in this rescue venture, and he had plently of them! Terry already has a vet appointment scheduled for him and I know in my heart that this is a special dog. Again, without all the help from everyone, he would be gone from us. Thanks for the phone calls, emails, and trips to assure that he would be spared the needle this morning."'
