My story

Kori is actually not a Sheepdog/Jindo, but since his breed is so rare it is not offered as an option in the drop down menu. After consulting with some breed experts, it was suggested to us to list him like this and simply explain :)
Kori is a pure bred Sapsaree, origin Korea. To find out more about this breed, please visit www.sapsaree.org. Through some research we have been told that he is one of only 9 in the United States.

Kori is 2 years old and has spent most of that time chained in a backyard and neglected. He came to us looking like a matted skeleton, over 30 lbs underweight. In his fosterhome he has learned what it is like to be warm, cared for and loved. Kori bonds very strongly to his family and will be a very loyal companion. This is not a dog for a first time pet owner. He will need continued, firm and gentle guidance. As you can see from his pictures, we had to have him shaved to the skin and in order to accomlish that he had to be fully anesthetized. We never want him to have to go through that again. His coat will need grooming and again this will be a learning experience for him, since no one ever has brushed him before.
We firmly believe that the person willing to give Kori love, understanding, time and patience, will be rewarded with a once-in-a-lifetime companion.
Only homes with fully and securely fenced yards will be considered. Veterinary references will be required.
