Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Are you ready to meet the sweetest, most deserving boy in the world? Say hello to Garland! This beautiful young gentleman was found starving to death at a local shopping center. He was living in a concrete drainage pipe next to a trash-filled pond and getting attacked by the local feral cat population. He was sick and skeletal and trying to eat soggy cornflakes. My estimation is that he might have survived another week, if that. Understandably wary of humans, I had to trap him, but once he realized I wasn't trying to harm him, he melted. The relief and exhaustion he displayed were absolutely heartbreaking. Rescued right before Christmas, I chose the name Garland. Aside from the obvious holiday theme, the name means "crowned in victory, wreath, or prize," which I thought was especially fitting. He is estimated to be about six to eight months old and, once fully recovered, will be a stunning, long-haired ginger lion. Garland is a very affectionate boy and loves to nuzzle your face and hair. He likes to have eyes on you and to know he is not alone and is safe. He has an instapurr and loves to have his belly rubbed! He gets along well with other friendly cats. Given his traumatic start to life, he will likely need a home without young children as he is startled by loud noises and fast movements. Though he still looks quite thin and unkempt in his current photos, maybe you can see the magnificent cat he will become. Will your home be the safe haven he so deserves?
Garland is not officially available for adoption yet as he is still recovering from his ordeal. He needs to gain a suitable amount of weight, but he is well on his way. He is expected to be ready to go to his new home around the first part of February. He will be neutered, fully vaccinated, tested for FLV/FIV, dewormed, flea-free, and microchipped before adoption. Committed early adopters will be asked to pay a partial adoption fee to hold him.
Email or text ONLY with questions about Garland or to receive a digital application. I do not accept calls. I offer a 14-day money-back trial to ensure Garland is a good fit for your family. I also offer a lifetime return if for any reason you are unable to care for him in the future. I am also available indefinitely for cat-care questions and guidance.
