Gill is a 4 year-old Great Dane/Terrier mix who weighs 84lbs! Gill is a sweet boy who can be a little nervous when meeting new people so he might need a few treats in order to feel at home. He doesn`t take much to feel comfortable with new people and he will be jumping up to give you kisses in no time!
Gill is surely one of the smartest dog you`ve ever met and he knows a whole arsenal of tricks. As you can see from his adorable video, he loves to show off and has a passion for training! He enjoys going on long walks in the sunshine, but he is just as happy to spend his days inside playing with some toys, doing enrichment puzzles, or lying on the couch for a move night.
Gill shows potential to live with dogs in his forever home, but he prefers a slow introduction because he is very excited at first! Since he is such a big guy, if there are kids in his forever home, they need to be ages 13 and older, but he shows potential to do well with younger that may visit the home.
If Gill sounds like the lovable lug for you, give us a call at: 330-487-0333 ext.226 to learn all about this one of a kind pup!

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.
We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.
Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter
Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
