Breed: Golden Retriever Shiba Inu mix

Personality: Luna is a resilient, loyal, fun-loving pup! She lights up every room she enters with her smile and big personality. Nothing phases her or slows her down one bit! She is eager to try new things and very calm in the process. She LOVES to cuddle, receive belly rubs, and be pet! Luna is great with being handled and wouldn't hurt a fly! She is treat motivated and aims to please. She loves to play with toys and does not mind sharing.

Medical: Luna only has about 20% function in her back legs. She gets around my scooting using her front legs or being assisted by her back leg sling. Despite this, she is quite active and loves to chase balls, do zoomies, and wrestle with her foster siblings! She will need medical assistance for the rest of her life so her family must be prepared with the care she will need. We are optimistic that with therapy, she may be able to gain back more function.

Home recommendation: Luna would love a family who can shower her in love and attention, and also play with her! Her forever family must have the dedication and time to provide all her medical care and ensuring Luna is comfortable.

Kids: 6+

Dogs: Luna is currently being fostered with another dog and they play all day long! She can be a bit selective with who becomes her best friend but she would not mind a laid-back sibling.

Cats: Yes! She could care less about cats.

Crate Trained: Luna does not mind being kept in a crate, but her current foster currently keeps her in a gated area.

House Trained: Working on it! She needs a consistent schedule and frequent let outs.

Leash Manners: Luna enjoys going on walks! She does great walking on the leash and enjoys being hoisted around in her sling.

Why did he come to WISE?: Luna was found abandoned in a box on the side of the road in China as a puppy. Thanks to good samaritans, they saved her and raised her and contacted WISE for help. She then made her journey from China to NJ and has been adapting quickly to her new chapter!
