My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sadie sort of gives off Scooby Doo vibes. She has tan fur, a blocky head, and long legs. Who knows! You find her the right group of friends and maybe she`ll start solving mysteries!

Sadie came into the shelter as a stray on 12/20/22. She was a bit skittish (also like Scooby Doo) when she was new to the shelter, but she`s since gotten more comfortable and has really come into her own. She`s friendly and enjoys being pet, but she`s also very independent and likes to amuse herself by walking around and smelling things. She has a lower energy level, and doesn`t seem to care much for toys. She promises to be an easy going and low maintenance companion. She doesn`t know any tricks yet, but in typical Scooby Doo fashion she`s always happy to take a treat! She`s done well meeting dogs in shelter as well.

Our regular adoption fee is $100 payable by money order or credit card. The fee covers basic vaccinations, Rabies vaccination, microchip, heart worm testing for dogs, and the spay/neuter surgery.

You will be required to sign to an adoption contract and other paperwork relating to the adoption of your new family member.

Our kennel hours are Monday-Friday 10 am to 4 pm and Wednesday 5 pm to 7 pm. We are also open on Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm.

More about this shelter

We are an open admission, municipal shelter serving the unincorporated area of Fort Bend County, TX.

We are the county's rabies control authority as well as being their animal shelter. On average, we take in approximately 4,000-5,000 pets per year.

The staff at FBCAS is small but each and every one of us is dedicated to making the stay of the pets in our care as comfortable as possible. Our hearts are in this and with every pet that crosses our threshold.

We are part of the amazing Fort Bend County community and we are always striving to work with our community people and partners to make our shelter the best it can be.

We can always use new volunteers to help us keep our pets happy and healthy while they wait for their forever home.
