My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a big galumph? Nero is a large, handsome, warm-hearted dog who really stands out from the pack. This big sweet dog is just a big softy who is upbeat and friendly with a contagious smile.

Nero has short, low maintenance fur that’s mostly black with a splash of white on his chest and belly. His black fur provides a nice contrast to his bright white smile and his warm amber eyes. Those eyes light up when one of his favorite people enters the room. Lucky for him, many people he meets are favorites. Now he just needs that one extra special favorite person to give him a forever home.

Nero has a mellow personality and walks well on a leash. He gets along very well with other dogs and he’s just a great all around, very good boy. Nero would love to keep you company on walks or just hanging out around the house. He’s agreeable and eager to please so whatever fun adventures you have in mind will probably sound great to him. He is house trained and adaptable so he should adjust easily to a new home.

If you’d like to find a new best friend, you couldn’t ask for a better bet than Nero. If he sounds like a good match for you, please give this great dog the forever home he so richly deserves. Nero is being fostered near Ajijic, MX and can be adopted locally or to parts of the US and Canada.

More about this rescue

Bone Voyage is a non-profit rescue group created to send Mexican dogs north to better homes. We work with the local shelters and with people in the Lake Chapala area that have many street dogs in their care.

We also assist individuals that find street dogs and don’t know what to do with them. We are all volunteers working together to try to minimize the amount of homeless dogs in the area.
