Milo is 7 years old and weighs 70 lbs.  He's neutered and up to date on his vaccinations, but he is not microchipped.  Milo's guardian states:  " Milo is a family-friendly dog that loves to cuddle, likes belly rubs and can patiently lay with kids at naptime while books are being read.  He joys the energy of young children and the attention they give him. He also loves to be around other pack dogs for companionship and exercise.  If you feed him carrots for treats he'll be your best buddy.  He's also protective of his owners and will even guard an infant's crib. He's a black lab and pit mix."

BITE INCIDENT:  Longer than 10 days ago, Milo bit someone in Rockville, MD.  The bite didn't break the skin, animal control was involved, and " victim visited the hospital to get the shots."   Milo also bit and scratched someone's leg.  Milo's guardian explains:  " Milo bit someone while he was in the care of a dog sitter. It was totally dog sitters fault at the time she had three dogs with her and a baby in the carriage while she want for a walk all three dogs attacked a moslem lady who was totally covered he face and body it  then he and the other dogs was reported to  county and he had to stay home for ten days,   Otherwise he is excellent."

Milo's guardian states the reason he has decided to rehome him:  " Our son rescued Milo from a kill shelter in Arizona while in college.  We're now seeking a permanent home with a family who can provide him more interaction, and engagement and provide a routine."

Milo's guardian states the following about children:  Milo lives with children, ages infant to 8 years old and his guardian recommends his living with children, stating he's "quiet and playful even with infants."

Milo's guardian states the following about dogs:  Milo has lived with and has otherwise been around dogs with no issues whatsoever, so his guardian recommends his living with dogs.

Milo's guardian states the following about cats:  Since Milo hasn't lived with or otherwise been around cats, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats.

Milo's guardian further describes him as:

Couch potato
Quiet
Playful
Friendly
Likes to be touched
Protective
Nervous
House-Trained
Likes men
Likes women
Separation anxiety

Milo's guardian describes his future ideal home:  "He prefers big back yard so he can play."

More about this rescue

Rescue Well was founded by Christine Sandberg in Baltimore, Maryland in 2011. Since its launch, it’s grown from offering post-adoption support to the city shelter, to offering several programs across Maryland, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia. Our Programs focus on improving the lives of both pets and its owners. We proudly serve without judgment or expectations and we strictly follow our Rescue Well Engagement Model: ENGAGE > EDUCATE > EMPOWER.

Our organization’s programs are run by volunteers who are actively engaged in front-line intervention, community support, shelter support, and re-homing services for all pets.
