Ariel von Artern is a beautiful 3 year old Shepherd mix. Ariel has a spirit that is simply infectious. We think her sideways smile is absolutely adorable. This friendly and engaging girl has her heart set on an active home that can accommodate her get-up-and-go personality. A curious girl who is a quick learner, Ariel does well in a crate and loves toys and balls. On walks she is the picture of enthusiasm; she’s so pleased to be by your side and, with a few directions, she’ll settle down into her winning stride. She hopped right into the car to go to our monthly hike to Griffith Park, was well behaved and loved the cool breeze and outdoors. She has a zeal for life that molds beautifully with dogs of similar play styles. Super chill dogs might find her exuberance a tad much, but she truly loves everyone and everything (except cats, please). She is so sweet that one might swear that the dash of white on her snout is actually whipped cream! Ariel is ready to go!
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Ariel von Artern YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org
Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

In order to adopt any dog from Westside German Shepherd Rescue, one must fill out an adoption application first. Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
