Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi there, I'm Misty, a black and white pit mix who is looking for a forever family. I'm 7 years old, 58 pounds, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. I'm also house, crate, and leash trained, and I know my basic commands.
I'm a shy, timid, and nervous girl who has had a rough life. I spent my whole life outside on a chain, and I never knew what love was. But I'm learning to trust people and to enjoy life. I warm up fast once I feel safe and comfortable with you. I love my crate, it's my security and my happy place. I also love to sleep in the bed with you, but I won't take up much space as I tend to curl up at the foot of the bed. I just like to be close to you.
I'm good with older kids who can be gentle and patient with me, but I'm not a fan of young kids who might scare me or hurt me. I'm also good with other dogs, but I prefer a submissive dog as I'm a low-energy dog. I have not been cat tested, but I can be if you are interested in me.
I'm currently being fostered in Hampton, VA, but I can be transported to another state for the right home. I'm looking for a kind and understanding person who can give me a safe and loving environment. You must be 21 or older to apply for me.
If you think you are the one for me, please fill out an application and my rescue will contact you if we’re a match. I promise to be your loyal and loving friend for life.

Our Mission
Operation Save A Shelter Dog is a foster based, IRS-recognized 501c(3) rescue whose mission is to work with shelters on the East Coast by saving dogs at high risk of euthanasia or that have little hope of adoption in their current condition. Not only is it our goal to find furever homes for our dogs, but also to educate the public on the importance of spaying, neutering, vaccinating and providing preventative care for their pets.
