Meet Yeti!! Yeti spent a month in a rural shelter and then came to Fuzzy Pawz. He has been in his foster home for a couple weeks, and is an absolute joy to have around. Everyone that meets him falls in love, and he loves everyone he meets. We don’t know much about his history but what we can tell is that he was loved. He’s very social and loving, used to being groomed, and wants nothing more than to get attention any way he can. He can be a bit of a velcro dog. But he will go lay down on his bed when appropriate.
Yeti is mostly house trained. Being a non-neutered male when he came into his foster home, he had very normal marking behavior. In his home it took a few days for that to subside and he can now be trusted not to mark in the house. In new situations he should always be watched. This behavior usually dissipates over time after they are neutered.
He LOVES to play with other dogs and plays very nicely. He’s a likable dog by other dogs, even those that usually don’t engage too much. Both his foster sisters really enjoy his company.
Yeti’s only bad habit is his counter surfing. He will be sneaky and likes to grab food off of the counter, table, etc when he’s left alone. He won’t do this if you are actively cooking in the kitchen. He’s a large dog, standing at about 26” at the shoulder. So it’s easy for him to see “treats” on the higher surfaces. For this reason, and due to his size, he should not go to a home with small children.
When Yeti came to us he was matted down to the skin and the amazing Brittany the owner of the grooming salon Powder Paws LLC had to shave him pretty close. He will need regular grooming, and is a medium energy level when he has friends to play with. We’d like Yeti to go to a home that has at least one dog that needs a playmate.
