My name is Merengue and I arrived in Canada a few weeks ago from Mexico. I’m so lucky to be here with my foster family because my life before was hard when I was living on the streets. Now, I get fed really well and treated with so much love and kindness. Can you believe I have my own bed? Like, WOW!
I have learned so much from my foster family. I am housetrained and very polite. I have been a good girl, my foster parents tell me that all the time! They say that I'm doing great with my training which I enjoy because I love learning new things and get lots of treats when I listen. I know ‘place,’ ‘sit,’ and improving day by day with my leash skills. I love going on walks so much! There are so many new smells and things to see. Lately, on my walks there is this funny white stuff on the ground called ‘snow’. It’s cold and wet but when I get bundled up, I don’t mind it!
I am confident on my own and don’t need a dog pal as long as my family is home a lot. I am friendly with other dogs and cats but I really love being around my people all the time. I will make a great work from home colleague. One of my favourite things to do is doze off on my foster moms lap. She gives me the best belly rubs and chin scratches (my favourite)!
While I am really enjoying living with my foster family, I'm ready to find my forever home. I know you and the elves are very busy right now, but I could really use the help! Here’s what I’m looking for:
- A home in the suburbs. I am not a fan of noisy and busy streets
- A family that will take me on long walks everyday and are home a lot
- Lots of toys, balls are my favourite!
- A comfy dog bed
- A family that has older dog-savvy kids (if they have kids!)
- A family who will teach me even more skills and tricks because I am smart and want more treats!
