Penelope aka “Pippy"
Pippy passed her temperament test with flying colors. Played a few hours successfully with shepherds, huskies, retrievers and small dogs too. The facility (and vet) also believe she is an Australian Cattle/kelpie mix breed. She is really a powerful dog.
Pippy is a gorgeous mixed breed dog. She is a mighty young girl and is about 1 year old, and weighs 48 pounds. She is very intelligent and has high energy. She has a solid muscle build. When spoken to she turns her head back and forth listening intently not to miss a thing! She loves to run, play, give kisses and snuggle. This sweet and loving girl would be good around a family with older elementary age children. She has been exposed to cats, but she does lunge at them. Her foster mom feels no cats would be the safest home. We don't want anyone's kitties to come to harm.
Penelope is fairly reliable with her house training, but she will need patience and gentle training to reinforce her good bathroom etiquette in her new home. She requires a fully enclosed fenced yard, no exceptions!
She is a little apprehensive around men at first but after a few sniffs she warms up pretty quickly. She does not bark much unless someone is at the door that she doesn't know.
She is spayed and is up to date on all of her vaccines.
We do require our dogs to be maintained on heartworm prevention and to be vaccinated in accordance with your veterinarians protocol.
