Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Skeeter-in Mooresville, NC
Skeeter is a fun-loving, happy 9-month-old pup, and pro snuggler! We don’t know much about his past, but suspect it wasn’t great, as his previous owner dumped him at a rural Georgia shelter. That’s when the nice people at ASF snatched him up and promised him he’d never be alone again! Despite his rough start, Skeeter is super happy and loving and would make a wonderful pal for an active person or family.
Skeeter has made lots of new friends in his foster home and loves to play with other dogs and go on adventures. He loves toys, chew bones and especially training treats! He’s a very smart fella and was started on clicker training which he was picking up very quickly. He’s learned sit, down, paw, and crate- he is very food motivated 😊 After a good play session, Skeeter is happy to settle down and take a nice long nap or chew on a bone.
Skeeter is house trained and goes out regularly without issue. He will also let you know when he needs to go potty by crying near the door. He is crate trained but has been sleeping through the night cuddled next to his foster family.
Skeeter’s perfect home would have a fenced yard, no apartments, or electric fences. He’d love to have a friendly active canine companion to romp and play with and burn off some of that puppy energy. Skeeter would love a family that was home more often than not - it’s hard on a young active pup to be crated for long hours. He would thrive with a family that would continue his positive reinforcement training and take him on adventures. Skeeter can be tempted by small critters and will need someone who is patient and will continue to work with him on his leash manners.
A home with children over 12 would be preferred as Skeeter can get very excited and may knock little ones down.
Skeeter will bark at visitors but eventually warms up to everyone. He is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines and will be microchipped.
If you’re looking to add a happy-go-lucky snuggle buddy to your family, Skeeter may be your guy! Skeeter is fostered in Mooresville, NC.
