Carson is just a cute little bundle of happiness and love wrapped around a fierce little heart. She was one of four puppies found as strays in NM. She is cautious about people and new things as any pup would be...but once she realizes she is in a warm safe place...well game on. Best guess is that she is a cattle dog mixed with something small. She has a voice and knows how to use it when things are not moving along to her satisfaction. Because of that she is not suited to an apartment or shared wall situation. Being a herding dog mix, she is quite bright and energetic so a home with a yard is best for her. She is being fostered in a home with dogs all larger than she is and she is not afraid and plays with all of them. Since she is smaller, a home with other puppy tolerant dogs would be great....but she could also thrive in a home as the only dog for someone who is home during the day and is willing to teach her fun things. She will not do well in a home where she is left by herself for long periods of time. She is a puppy and potty training is coming along well with her sleeping through the night and very few accidents. And as always with a puppy, needs to potty after her meals and when she wakes up from a nap but she has had few accidents. She sleeps in a kennel during the day for naps and at night and is doing well with crate training. She rides in a crate in the car and is doing well on car rides after a little bit of fussing then she settles in. Best guess is that she is 16 weeks old. Approx 13#. She has a little bit of leash training but will need some work on that as with all puppies. She will be someone's fantastic adventure dog.
