My story

Hello, my name my name is Duke. I was rescued from Woodhaven, Queens in November 2022. I started to roam in my feeder’s backyard winter of 2021 and became a frequent visitor for food and water in spring of 2022. Little by little I started to gain trust in my feeder and allowed her to handle me. While my feeder worked on getting my trust, she also worked on looking for help from a rescuer. My feeder was very worried about me as I was skin and bones when I became a frequent visitor in spring 2022. But thanks to my feeder I was able to gain weight and my fur started to grow back. On November 2022 I was finally taken indoors and went to my first vet visit. Turns out I was already neutered so it's believed I once had an owner but unfortunately was left behind in the streets. It’s okay though because I found my amazing feeder who never stopped until she was able to find help for me.

Message from Rescuers: Duke is an amazing big boy. He has the biggest paws ever but is so sweet and gentle. He will make the best companion to a lucky human.
