My eyes may not work that well but that doesn’t stop me from seeing all the potential beauty in the world.
Hi, I’m Memo, a lovely gentleman poodle-terrier mix. I’m approximately 8-10 years old and I weigh 15lbs. So you let me tell you about my special eyes - I recently had to have one eye
removed and I have very limited sight in the other eye but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying life! I see with my heart and I hope you will use yours to see me for the wonderful boy that I am. I am just getting used to lifelike this and shouldn't go up or down stairs so my forever home has to be one where someone is willing to let me get used to being blind and carry me if necessary or there are no stairs. To be clear though, I'm still a pretty active guy!
Before I lost all my sight, I was very good on leash and love a nice half an hour walk each day as long as it’s not really cold out. I hope that will happen again. I’m housetrained and respectful of my foster home. However, when it is cold I don’t want to go out and may have accidents then.
I don’t seem to shed yet but I will require regular grooming or I will get matted. I get along well with other gentle dogs. I think I’d be fine with a cat as long as the cat was respectful of me.
I make a fabulous companion. I am a sweet gentle boy. I love belly rubs, eating and hanging around the dining room table just in case someone drops something yummy on the floor. I think I would love to be an assistant chef and help you in the kitchen but if you don’t need help, I will keep you company while you’re cooking. I do like to get underfoot because I can’t see, so my family has to be careful because I am the cutest tripping hazard.
Speaking of companionship, I would prefer if someone is home most of the day because when I am left alone, I get scared and will cry.
I’m easy going and by 8:00 pm, I’m ready to be tucked in my bed for the evening but if I hear you in the kitchen, I will be right behind you looking for a bedtime snack. Yum!
