Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Note: Gunner is currently with a foster family in Hamilton, ON
Gunner was rescued from a dog meat farm last year. After his rescue, he lived in a private shelter in Hwasung, Korea until he flew to Canada to find his forever home. He is currently living with a foster family in Hamilton, where he also lives with 2 other FKD alumni.
Gunner has typical lab qualities. He's a social butterfly who is friendly with everyone and greets them with a wagging tail, whether 2 or 4 legged. He can sometimes get a little excited when greeting people and forgets he is a big boy, and is learning how to say hello politely. He has responded well to "off", and "no" and takes directions well, so we're sure he'll learn this quickly with some time and consistency. After Gunner has gotten his initial greetings out of the way, he will ask for pets and rubs and give you kisses in return.
One of Gunner's canine's foster sisters is more social, and the other is more assertive, and he has been very polite and respectful of their cues. He is well balanced and has great communication with other dogs. He plays well with them and sometimes will follow their lead as well.
Being a lab, Gunner likes to explore things with his mouth. However, he is not destructive in the home and has been left alone for a few hours with no issue. He is eager to please and as a result learns quickly, and has quickly learned "no" when doing something he is not supposed to.
This happy, goofy boy will be great for someone who is looking for a snuggly friendly fur baby. He would enjoy a home in a quiet neighborhood with people who enjoy outdoor time. He would also love a friendly and playful canine sibling, although this is not a requirement for adoption.
