Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Daisy is 100% puppy and an absolute lover. She is smart and attentive. Knows how to sit, and was beginning to register the "come" and "drop" and "no jump" commands. She loves to play and is mouthy (meaning she likes to chew.... everything she can find ;-) like all puppies.
I watched her very closely around my 2.5 year old and she obeyed when I told her "no" or "no jump." I was adamant about it. She loved our two other dogs. She and the younger one, Ruby, played a lot - often until they wore each other out. I never saw Daisy act aggressively - just the goofy rambunctiousness you'd expect of a young puppy. On occasion, she got a little jealous of Ruby, but they sorted it out and I intervened when needed. When she met our cat for the first time, she stared at her and wanted to play but didn't bare her teeth or snarl.
I took her for a walk almost every day and by the third day she was walking well on her leash - stopping occasionally when she heard a noise (car revving, garage door opening, etc.) or saw something that she couldn't make out. Apart from some timidity and pulling, she did well on leash. We were also working on "no pulling." At night, we put her in her crate and often -- when she wasn't on the couch (!) -- she'd take naps in her crate with the gate open. She did not whimper and easily walked into her crate at bed time.
She's just a big, old, floppy girl and will make a great companion for someone. To keep her well socialized, I would recommend a person who has the time and strength to train and play with Daisy -- and who may have another older, docile dog. A no dog house would be a-ok too, of course, but I think being around other dogs in a non-threatening and loving environment -- esp an older one who can "show her the ropes" -- would be very helpful. She's strong as a pup and needs someone who can handle her -- the sooner her new owner can start obedience training, the better. Our older dog, Gracie, played mom a bit and helped keep Daisy in check during play time.
Bottom line: She'll thrive in a great home with a good family or individual who can nurture, train and shower her with love and many a dog bone.
