SPECIAL NEEDS: CEREBELLAR HYPOPLASIA
Dorian Gray (fka Chester) was brought to ACCT Philly as a stray, and they immediately noticed some disturbing symptoms: he was very wobbly, couldn’t walk a few steps without falling over, and his legs were splayed out and stiff. Despite all that, all Dorian wanted was love – he would literally fall over himself to rush to the front of the cage and get pets! He also showed some seizure-like activity, which requires further diagnostics. All shelters are stretched thin, and ACCT Philly was in no position to offer Dorian the medical care he needed. They put a call for a rescue to pull him, and for people who wanted to help to pledge their support!
We at Kizzy’s Place live by the motto of Friends Helping Friends, and we couldn’t let this soul perish! We got him safely in his foster home, letting him get the lay of the land (by falling a lot) and being hand-fed snacks. He is actually getting used to a good life!
Cerebellar Hypoplasia is a non-progressive disorder of the cerebellum. He is not in pain, but just a bit uncoordinated.
